Troop 9 will head North next month, traveling to Gorham, NH where we will stay at the  Joe  Dodge  Lodge  for  two  nights.  During  the  day  on  Saturday,  the  professional  guides  of  Eastern   Mountain  Sports  have  been  contracted  to  teach  the  Scouts  the  skills  necessary  to  climb  an  ice  wall  safely   and  successfully.  We  have  been  honing  their  climbing  skills  these  past  two  months  through  our  indoor   climbing  program  both  in  December  and  February,  with  some  Scouts  already  earning  the  Climbing  merit   badge  and  several  more  on  the  way  to  completing  the  requirements.

Troop 9 will be holding its annual Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser on Scout Sunday, February 5th. We are asking each scout to sell a minimum of 5 tickets. Please help pre-sell as many tickets as possible to family, friends, neighbors, co-workers, etc. This fundraiser is very important to the Troop and the funds are greatly needed at this time.

Activities Include: Climbing on the indoor climbing wall; Ice Fishing (if conditions permit); Winter Skills Training; Cross-country Skiing / Snow-Shoeing; Shoot .22 rifles and Archery; Shot-Gun; winter games; and fun!

Troop  9  Scouts  have  a  huge  opportunity  to  be  introduced  to  the  sport  of  climbing,  and   possibly  earn  a  merit  badge  in  the  process  when  we  travel  for  an  overnight  adventure  at  Rock  Spot  Climbing  Center  in  Lincoln,  Rhode  Island  on  the  weekend  of  January  7th - 8th.
