TESTIMONIALS FROM PARENTS;

Jean Ingellis: "When my son joined Troop 9 many years ago I had no idea at the time how much enjoyment it would bring over the years, to watch him mature and explore new things through the Scouting program. He has had so many life memory experiences through Scouts that we could not have given him on the family level alone. Whitewater rafting, Rock Climbing, Sailing, Deep Sea Fishing, just to name a few. It is a testament to Troop 9 that over the years I have seen many former Scout adults stop by to contribute to the Troop and how many Scouts have volunteered and stayed with the Troop!"

 Tracy O'Donnell: "Our son has gotten SO MUCH out of his involvement in Boy Scouts. He's developed a real love of nature. It's great to see him growing up with such confidence and enthusiasm, and Scouts has given him an ability to rise to any challenge or opportunity presented to him. We are watching him grow into a fine young man, all due to Scouting. We are all looking forward to many, many more adventures in Troop 9."

 Anonymous: "Troop 9 has been a wonderful experience for our son. It has allowed him room for growth in confidence and leadership. He also feels a real sense of belonging and value in this community. He is committed to his Patrol and his Troop. With the help of Troop 9 in his life he is growing into a strong, confident and moral young man".

TROOP 9 SCOUTS SPEND A WEEKEND AT THE NEWPORT NAVAL BASE!

Posted on Mar 29 2017 - 12:12am

Anchors Away! We had an awesome experience at the Naval base in Newport, Rhode Island in March. Besides a tour of the War College Museum, and an active Coast Guard Cutter, we had fun at the base bowling alley, got in some swimming at the base indoor heated pool, shot some hoops at the gym and had three square meals a day at the base galley, with the boot camp recruits and members of the officer's candidate school! On Sunday, after breakfast, we attended religious services at the base chapel and had a tour of the base Fire Station before heading home. What a great weekend, camping in tents in the snow at Yawgoog Scout Reservation. We even made the front page of the Base newsletter!
